Crunchyroll Drops ‘Odd Taxi’ English Dub

‘Odd Taxi,’ sometimes stylized as ‘ODDTAXI’ is a mystery manga written by Kazuya Konomoto and illustrated by Takeichi Abaraya that is published by Shogakukan through their Big Comics imprint. Similar to ‘Zootopia,’ the plot features anthropomorphic animals living everyday life. The manga was picked up by the Japanese animation studio OLM for an 2021 anime adaption which Crunchyroll announced they are releasing an English dub.
Mike McFarland will play the middle-aged Walrus taxi driver Hiroshi Odokawa. The series will also star Lauren Landa as alpaca Miho Shirakawa, Daman Mills as gorilla Ayumu Gouriki, Lucien Dodge as gibbon Eiji Kakihan, Jenny Yokobori as calico cat Shiho Ichimura, Kayli Mills as black cat Yuki Mitsuya, Brandon McInnis as meercat Kenshiro, Bryce Papenbrook as meercat Koshiro, SungWon Cho as boar Kensuke Shibagaki, Zeno Robinson as hippopotamus Taichi Kabasawa, and Caitlin Glass as kangaroo Taeko Harada.
The show also released a promotional poster featuring most of the main cast of characters.

MyAnimeList describes the plot as follows,
“Eccentric and blunt, the walrus Hiroshi Odokawa lives a relatively normal life. He drives a taxi for a living, and there he meets several unique individuals: the jobless Taichi Kabasawa who is dead-set on going viral, the mysterious nurse Miho Shirakawa, the struggling comedic duo “Homo Sapiens,” and Dobu, a well-known delinquent.
But Odokawa’s simple way of life is about to be turned upside-down. The case of a missing girl the police have been tracking leads back to him, and now both the yakuza and a duo of corrupt cops are on his tail. Set in a strangely familiar city filled with unusual individuals, Odd Taxi is a bizarre story about a humble taxi driver and the mystery of a lost high schooler.”
‘Odd Taxi’ originally aired on TV Tokyo and AT-X in Japan. A movie adaption is in the works through OLM, P.I.C.S, and Asmik Ace.
