European Fantasy Film ‘Three Wishes For Cinderella’ Coming To North America

Shout Studios is bringing director Cecilie A. Mosli’s fantasy feature ‘Three Wishes For Cinderella’ to a North American audience through a distribution deal with Sola Media. The European film will be released on digital, video-on-demand, broadcast, theatrical, and home entertainment platforms for a wide audience.
Managing Director of Sola Media Solveig Langeland expressed his enthusiasm for the release.
“We are very happy to team up again with our friends from Shout,” he said. “And very excited about the release in North America, following the very successful release in Norway, where the film was only outperformed by James Bond in the 2021 box office. THREE WISHES FOR CINDERELLA is a modern, charming and atmospheric fairy-tale suited for every generation. Our Cinderella is kind and beautiful yet independent and strong; she is an active protagonist and the architect of her own fortune. We are certain that this adaptation will have a strong potential to inspire families worldwide.”

Shout describes the synopsis as follows,
“Since her father’s death, the kind-hearted but also courageous Cinderella lives with her cruel stepmother and spoiled stepsister Dora who treat her like a servant in her own house. During one of her daily escapes to the forest, Cinderella prevents a couple of men from hunting wild animals, amongst them the handsome prince of the kingdom. They immediately feel attracted to each other, but he is expected to find a suitable bride at the next royal ball which Cinderella is not allowed to attend. Equipped with a great deal of courage and empowered by her three magical hazelnuts, she decides to stand up for herself and determine her own fate. Is she able to break free from her stepmother’s tyranny and find true love?”
Originally known as ‘Tre nøtter til Askepott,’ the movie is co-written by Anna Bache-Wiig, Karsten Fullu, and Kamilla Krogsveen.
A release date has yet to be confirmed.
