Funimation Announces Slew Of Home Video Releases

Funimation is not slowing down their content after they successfully acquired fellow anime streaming service Crunchyroll in a billion-dollar deal. Apart from announcing new English dubs, the Sony subsidiary announced a whole host of DVD releases for their anime.
“Welcome to this month’s home video solicitations. And though the word “solicitations” might sound boring, it’s actually very exciting, because it means there’s a whole mess of new anime announced that you’ll probably want to add to your shelf,” they wrote on their website. “Because we definitely will be adding to ours.”
The releases include:

  • The Rising of the Shield Hero – Season 1 Complete (Blu-ray + Digital)
  • Fire Force – Season 2 Part 2 – Limited Edition (Blu-ray/DVD + Digital)

Most of the releases will be available in November, but Funimation is promising fans that they will be able to pre-order their favorite anime.
This announcement comes on the heels of English dub releases for the Sherlock Holmes-themed mystery series ‘Moriarty the Patriot‘ as well as the Bandai Namco video game adaption ‘Scarlet Nexus.’ Both series launched their English dub version in August 2021 with promises to expand further into their respective anime.
