Go Ninja! Go Ninja! Go Get These Secret Of The Ooze Funko Pops!

My kid just discovered the original two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle films, and she asked me if these Turtles were real. Yes. Yes, they are. They’re as real as Santa Claus at the moment. Vanilla Ice is real, too.
When you’re young, you have to learn to believe the little lies. If they don’t learn them, how else will the bigger ones become real? Enough pining after Terry Pratchett. Let’s look at some Funko Pops!
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze kicking into theatres, Funko is releasing a bunch of Pops! based on the film. The sequel was rushed into production after the mega-success of the 1990 film. All of us kids of the ’80s went to see it. The film was an event like Christmas, Halloween, and your 10th birthday party combined.
This series of miniature movie icons will feature the following characters:

  • Tokka
  • Rahzar
  • Super Shredder
  • Michelangelo
  • Raphael
  • Donatello
  • Leonardo

Almost everyone is here. Why no Splinter, though? Or Paige Turco as April O’Neil? Or David Warner as Professor Jordon Perry? Or Ernie Reyes Jr. as Keno? Or Toshishiro Obata as Tatsu? OK, OK. I understand that these things cost money to produce, and not everyone is clamoring for a David Warner action figure. This is all just wishful thinking.
These Secret of the Ooze figures will be out in August of this year. Just in time for my birthday! If you’re feeling generous, head on over to Entertainment Earth and buy all of them for me.
Only joking. I have no room for these. Besides, they’d end up with my daughter on some magical journey with her Ana and Elsa dolls. Maybe I’ll find her Barbies doing the Ninja Rap.

What was your favorite Turtles movie? Let us know in the comments.
