‘I’m Quitting Heroing’ Fantasy Light Novel Is Getting An Anime Adaption


‘I’m Quitting Heroing’ is a 2017 Japanese fantasy light novel and manga series written by Quantum and illustrated by Hana Amano. It is published by Kakuyomu and Fujimi Shobo that originally started online before getting a physical release.
EMT Squared studios has announced that they will be adapting the fantasy series into an anime with Yuu Nobuta and Hisashi Ishii serving as directors.
Funimation said on their website, “Countless fantasy anime follow the journey of the hero on his path to defeating the ultimate evil, but what happens after that’s achieved? That’s the premise of I’m Quitting Heroing, which is getting an anime adaptation in Spring 2022.”
“Kensho Ono (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind) will be taking up the hero’s mantle as Leo Demonheart, joined by Kaede Hondo (BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense.) as Echidna, Shizuka Ito (High School DxD) as Steiner, Hitomi Ohwada (SHIROBAKO) as Lily, Yumi Uchiyama (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation) as Mernes and Tetsu Inada (My Hero Academia) as Edvard,” they continued. “Based on the light novel by Quantum, I’m Quitting Heroing is being directed by Yuu Nobuta and Hisashi Ishii at studio EMT Squared (Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear), with series composition by Shigeru Murakoshi (ZOMBIE LAND SAGA) and character design by Yuki Nakano (Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear).”

Kadokawa explained the synopsis, “After saving the world, the strongest hero, Leo, became someone who is not wanted in the peaceful human world. He was too strong. Exiled, he seeks a job at the Demon King’s Army, which he had defeated and needs to be rebuilt. The Army had many problems: too much work, financial troubles, etc. Leo starts to make things better using his power. Leo encounters Echidna again, and asks her why she invaded the human world. There was an unexpected story—!”
