Mezco Made A Retro Plush Out Of Creepshow’s Raoul!

The Creep, as he appeared in 1982’s Creepshow, is one of the most iconic characters to grace a VHS box. When you think old-school horror from the days of tapes, Raoul’s one-eyed skeletal visage always comes to mind. And that laugh. My god. That laugh.
Mezco is capturing that frightening and friendly face inspired by EC horror comics with a new retro plush doll. The Creep (Raoul) joins Pennywise in this line of 18″ tall floppy dolls based on horror movie legends.
The Creep is priced at $98 and should be snipping out later this year, possibly in time for Halloween.

Straight from the 1982 horror film, Creepshow, The Creep is here to fright and delight! This floppy Roto Plush is equal parts cuddly and creepy.
At approximately 18 inches tall, the MDS Roto Plush Creep features a menacing one-eyed stare and toothy smile. The decaying skeletal figure is outfitted in his iconic hood and robe and features rooted hair.

The original puppet used for the film had been in terrible shape for years. Eventually, Raoul was rescued by Tom Spina Designs. Special effects master Greg Nicotero had the Creep in his possession and contracted Spina’s business to restore the prop. Click here to check out images of restoration.

Creepshow was an amazing anthology of tales in the spirit of EC’s Tales from the Crypt or Vault of Horror comics. It was a star-studded event written and directed by the team of George Romero and Stephen King.
The Creep shows up during the film’s opening in live-action form before morphing into an animated fiend. I wish we got to see a showdown between the Creep and Tom Atkins.
