Noomi Rapace Set To Star In Netflix Thriller ‘Black Crab’

‘Alien: Covenant’ star Noomi Rapace is set to lead the Swedish action-thriller ‘Black Crab’ from director Adam Berg. The film is set to have a wide release on the Netflix streaming service. Aside from starring in the movie, Rapace will also co-executive produce it.
Netflix said on their website, “BLACK CRAB is a Swedish action thriller set in a post-apocalyptic world torn apart by war. During a long, harsh winter, six soldiers embark on a covert mission across a frozen archipelago, risking their lives to transport a mysterious package that could end the war. As they enter hostile enemy territory, they have no idea what dangers lie ahead or who—if anyone—they can trust. But for speed skater turned soldier Caroline Edh, the mission is about something else entirely. Starring Noomi Rapace in a film directed by Adam Berg, BLACK CRAB follows six soldiers on a desperate mission to bring an end to the war which has destroyed their lives.”
The film also stars Jakob Oftebro (Journey to the Christmas Star), Erik Enge (Tigers), Dar Salim (Truth About Men), Ardalan Esmaili (The Charmer), Aliette Opheim (Thicker Than Water), and David Dencik (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).
Rapace is also set to appear in the European horror film ‘You Won’t Be Alone,’ which will be released in North America on April 1, 2022.
‘Black Crab’ will hit Netflix on March 18, 2022.

The is produced by Malin Idevall and Mattias Montero with Berg co-writing the screenplay with Pelle Rådström.
The movie is based on the novel ‘Black Crab’ by author Jerker Virdborg. Goodreads states that the book “is an existential thriller that takes place in a northern country that can be reminiscent of Sweden, in a time that can be reminiscent of spring. Four men on an unknown mission over ice that barely bears.”
