A real Freddy Fazbear's Pizza is opening in New Jersey in 2027
A permanent, real-life Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza from Five Nights at Freddy’s is coming to the American Dream mall in New Jersey in 2027, built with ScottGames. It’ll have animatronics, arcade games, and survival-horror experiences.
Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, the haunted pizzeria at the center of Five Nights at Freddy’s, is becoming a real place you can walk into, which, for a series about killer animatronics, is a slightly ominous sentence.
American Dream, the massive entertainment and retail complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey, announced it’s building a permanent, real-life Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, with a grand opening targeted for 2027. It’s being developed with franchise owner ScottGames as what American Dream calls the world’s first permanent immersive restaurant based on the games.
And it’s not a photo-op set. The stated goal is to build the actual restaurant.
What’s actually inside
The pitch is dinner, arcade, and a scare, all in one building.
According to the announcement, guests will be able to eat at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, play arcade games, and watch animatronic stage shows featuring Freddy and the Fazbear Band on the Main Stage, plus Foxy the Pirate at Pirate Cove. Those are the exact fixtures FNAF fans know from the games, rebuilt as working animatronics.
Then there’s the part fans are fixating on: “immersive multiplayer survival-horror experiences.” That sounds like some real-life version of the games themselves, where the whole point is surviving a night with the animatronics, though American Dream hasn’t explained how it works. Whether that means manning a security office while Freddy stalks the halls, they’re not saying yet.
Why this is a big swing for FNAF
Building a permanent, family-facing attraction is a genuinely different move for this franchise.
Five Nights at Freddy’s spent a decade as horror games and then a hit Blumhouse movie, its whole premise being that the pizza place is a deathtrap. A permanent, fun-forward physical location is a different animal, and there’s real tension in turning “the restaurant that wants to kill you” into somewhere you take the family for pizza and a show. Then again, that tension is exactly the appeal, fans have wanted to walk into Freddy’s for years precisely because it’s supposed to be dangerous.
It’s also not a totally new idea, just a permanent one. Universal ran walk-through Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza mazes at Halloween Horror Nights in 2024 and 2025. Those were seasonal. American Dream’s is meant to stay open year-round.
What we don’t know yet
The honest status is: confirmed, but early.
The location is officially happening and targeted for 2027, but there’s no exact opening date, no ticketing details, no pricing, and no word on how the survival-horror piece actually functions. American Dream says those details come later and has a page where fans can register for updates.
There’s a fittingly Jersey footnote here, too. The state has been unofficially “haunted” by a fake Freddy’s connection in fan lore for years, and now it’s getting the genuine article, official animatronics and all. Come 2027, you’ll be able to eat a slice where Freddy plays the stage and, apparently, try to survive the night. Just maybe don’t take the security-guard job.
