Corey Feldman is out of the hospital after a mid-flight scare
The Goonies and Stand By Me star, 54, got sick on a flight home from his 40th-anniversary tour and was hospitalized overnight — but his team says it was a bad case of food poisoning, and he’s already on the mend.
Corey Feldman gave fans a scare this week, but the latest news is the good kind.
The 54-year-old actor fell ill on Monday, June 15, during a flight from Chicago to Los Angeles. A doctor on board checked him out mid-air, and the Los Angeles Fire Department met the plane at LAX, transporting him to a nearby hospital for tests.
He’d been traveling home from the Stand By Me 40th-anniversary tour, where he’d reunited with costars Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton to celebrate Rob Reiner’s 1986 classic.
A scary flight, then a much smaller diagnosis
Early reports floated pancreatitis or gallstones as possible causes. After an overnight stay and an MRI, both were ruled out.
The real culprit, per Feldman’s publicist on June 16, was “a really bad case of food poisoning.” He’d already been discharged and was, in his rep’s words, doing much better.
Feldman himself posted to fans late Monday, calling the episode scary but reassuring everyone that “all signs look good as of now,” and thanking people for the flood of well-wishes.
So no lasting drama here — just a rough flight and a worse meal. Feldman says he’s looking ahead to his new single, “What Am I Here 4,” due June 22, and a pair of birthday shows in Southern California next month.
