Prepare For Next Christmas With This Blacklight Emmet Otter Poster

Are you looking to get a jump start on this year’s Christmas decorating? Well, there’s nothing more Christmasy than Jim Henson’s feel-good holiday favorite Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas. But maybe you want a little bit of an edge to the decor? Oh, we know what you need.
They take what they want. They do anything that they wish. So it’s The Nightmare band from River Bottom! They’re here to ensure that Emmet Otter doesn’t win the Waterville talent contest. To celebrate their (short-lived) victory over the kindly Otter and his Ma, we have this awesome blacklight poster from Plastic Meatball.
The $65 poster of The Nightmare’s bandmembers has the ’70s Muppets vibe to it. It is a ‘C’ sized print (18″x24″) screen-printed. This thing is limited to only 77 prints. Each member of the villainous band is present: Stanley Weasel, Chuck Stoat, Howard Snake, Pop-Eyed Catfish, and Fred Lizard.
The artwork is by Dave Perillo. Click here to check out the artist’s other posters, from The Country Bears to Disney’s Robin Hood to Batman and Thundercats. Good stuff!

Plastic Meatball

Straight from Jim Henson’s enduring classic “Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas,” comes this 18″ x 24″ screen printed “gig” poster by artist Dave Perillo.
Capturing the hard-rocking attitude of the Riverbottom Nightmare Band with a distinctive 70’s retro flair (and referencing the special’s original December 4, 1977 premiere date), this 7-color, hand-printed, blacklight variant poster is a definite conversation starter.

The poster is a good blacklight work of art. Unfortunately, unless you’re hanging out in Spencer’s Gifts stores, these types of posters are not seen too often anymore. Now, if this thing came in a black velvet variant, I’d buy them all and have a very blacklighted Christmas 2022.

What do you think of this throwback from 1977? It makes me want a Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem poster, too. How about you?
