‘Moby Dick’ actor Patrick Stewart has endured himself to not one, but two fanbases with his appearances as Professor Xavier in the FOX X-Men franchise and as Star Trek commanding officer Captain Picard. He raised eyebrows and excitement when audiences claim to have heard his voice in a clip from a trailer for the upcoming Marvel Studios sequel ‘Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.’
Fan speculation went rampant and it seems Stewart has confirmed that it is him in the trailer and that he was shocked by the excitement, according to a SyFy Wire article.
“I had my phone turned off as it happened and so I didn’t hear anything,” Stewart told Jake’s Takes. “It wasn’t until the next morning when I woke up and looked at my phone and found that I had been bombarded with responses, and that my PR people had sent me reactions that they had detailed and passed on to me. I actually didn’t recognize my own voice. It sounded different. Whether I had a cold or something at the time, I don’t know. But, I was astonished. And all they saw was the back of my shoulder, and I think my earlobe, nothing else. That there would have been so many connections made, it pleased me.”
“Professor X would be extraordinarily cautious and watchful, and perhaps feel a little insecure because there is something that is potentially dangerous about this man, and I think that would put Professor Xavier on guard,” he continued.

Sir Patrick Stewart has performed the role of Professor X in ‘X-Men,’ ‘X2: X-Men United,’ ‘X-Men: The Last Stand,’ ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ and ‘Logan.’ He also had cameos as the character in ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ and ‘The Wolverine.’ It was speculated that he would appear in the canceled Fantastic Four crossover with the X-Men film.
