Professor X and Sabertooth Next For Diamond Select’s Animated Busts

As they were seen in Fox’s X-Men: The Animated Series, two new characters are joining Diamond Select’s line of busts. We’ve got two mutants with the best eyebrows this time around: Professor Charles Xavier ($69.99) and Sabertooth (Victor Creed) ($89.99).
The busts are painted to match the animated cels that lept to life in 1992. Sabertooth’s statue sits at 9.7″ tall, while Professor X is slightly smaller coming in at 9.2″ tall. Charles is 1:7 scale, but Victor is set at 1:6.

To me, my X-Men! The man who put the X in X-Men, Professor Charles Xavier, is now the newest 1/7 scale bust based on X-Men Animated Series! Captured using his telepathic powers from the comfort of his famous yellow hoverchair, Professor X measures approximately 6 inches tall and features cartoon-accurate paint applications. He is limited to only 3000 pieces and comes packaged with a numbered certificate of authenticity in a full-color window box. Designed by Barry Bradfield, sculpted by Paul Harding.

A Diamond Select Toys release! Bring on the bad guys! Sabretooth joins the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants in the latest release in the X-Men Animated bust line! Wearing his classic 1990s costume, with his claws ready to tear into Wolverine, Victor Creed stands approximately 6 inches tall atop a pedestal base. Featuring cartoon-accurate paint and sculpting, he is limited to only 3,000 pieces and comes packaged with a numbered certificate of authenticity in a full-color box. Designed by Barry Bradfield and sculpted by Paul Harding!

I remember the only way you could first get a Professor X action figure in the Toy Biz line was to buy this double-decker display chase. The set was called the X-MEN Mutant Hall of Fame. It came with a bunch of X-MEN characters that had already been released, except for Charles.

The catch? All of the figures had their joints superglued. Toy Biz wanted your money, but they knew how to screw you over. At this time, some of the toys were hard to come by. I think Iceman was the scarce one at that point.
I broke each figure loose and then realized the superglue had melted the joints, rendering them frozen in idiotic stances, except for Charles. He didn’t need to articulate. He was in his fancy hover-toilet.
What are your memories of the early Toy Biz Marvel days? Let us know in the comments section below.
