‘The New Prince of Tennis’ is a sports sequel manga written and illustrated by ‘The Prince of Tennis’ creator Takeshi Konomi. It began publication in 2009 by Tokyo-based publishing company Shueisha in their ‘Jump Square’ magazine. In 2021, Japanese animation companies Studio Kai and M.S.C developed an web series ‘The Prince of Tennis II: Hyotei vs. Rikkai Game of Future’ based on the manga. This was followed by the ongoing series ‘The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup’ that was released on TV Tokyo on 2022.

“Ryoma Echizen participated in the U-17 (Under Seventeen) Japan national team training camp, but was ordered to move out because he broke the norms of the training camp. The manga was previously adapted into an anime titled ‘The Prince of Tennis II’ by Production I.G and M.S.C that ran for thirteen episodes. It was followed by an OVA series ‘The Prince of Tennis II OVA vs. Genius 10.’
