TMNT’S Ultimate APRIL O’NEIL Available for Pre-Order from NECA

The NECA line of ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle’ figures has been supreme. Whether it was cartoon turtles, Jim Henson turtles, or video game turtles, all the toys looked amazing. Yet, after years of these figures being out, there was a noticeable exclusion. Where was the 1990’s April O’Neil?
Well, after a long wait, the Channel 5 news reporter will be hitting the market. There will be a standard version and a limited edition sporting a yellow raincoat and signed by her living counterpart, Judith Hoag.
NECAIt’s my opinion that Judith Hoag was the best April O’Neil out of all the incarnations of the Turtles franchise. She was strong-willed, smart, caring, and was willing to go toe-to-toe with the Foot when confronted early on in the movie.
That and she’s a natural redhead. So, yeah. That makes her an instant win.
Hoag recently took over NECA to talk about her action figure. Below is the fourth and final episode of her mini news segment.

From the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie! After wading in a puddle of radioactive waste, four radical reptiles are transformed into New York City’s greatest crime-fighting quartet. Also keeping an eye on the city’s unprecedented crime wave is intrepid Channel 3 reporter April O’Neil, who eventually finds herself face-to-face with the Turtles when Raphael rescues her from Foot Clan ninjas. April is super articulated, highly detailed and accurate to the movie, featuring the authorized likeness of Judith Hoag. The 7″ figure comes with alternate head and hands, Channel 3 microphone, purse, pizza stack, and sai accessories.

It’s unfortunate that we only got this April once on screen. If we know anything about Hollywood, though, I will bet she would appear again in some sort of weird TMNT reboot.
Pre-orders are available now over at the NECA Store. April is limited to two per customer.
